Lack of Volunteers Forces Cuts to Hayfield Hey Days

(ABC 6 News) -- For 26 years the Hayfield Hey Days has been a weekend filled with fun for the whole family.  However, a lack of volunteers is forcing organizers to scale back.

The Fire Department will still host a chicken fry, parade and fireworks.  Officials we spoke with say the Miss Hey Days pageant is too important to cancel, but they need someone to organize it.

The wiffle ball, softball and volleyball tournament will also continue as they are operated at the same time, but independently of the festival.

They are looking for volunteers, and if you would like to help out you can contact Mayor Greg Demmer at 507-269-3410.
