19 Minnesotans Part of Team USA Going to the Sochi Winter Olympics

(ABC 6 News) -- The U.S. Olympic Committee reports that Team USA's 230 member delegation is the biggest for any nation in the history of winter games.

Of this 230 athletes going to Sochi, 19 of them list Minnesota as their home town.

That's only second to California which is sending twenty athletes.

Colorado is tied at second and New York is third.

Here's a list of the Olympic winter sports you can watch and see Minnesota athletes compete in: ice hockey, cross country skiing, curling, biathlon and long track speed skating.

And the youngest skier on the U.S. Cross Country Women's Team also comes from Minnesota.

Twenty-two year old Jessie Diggins, graduate of Stillwater High School, will compete in the ski-athlon and cross country skiing.
