DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A Republican county election official is pushing Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz to investigate how three legitimate voters incorrectly appeared on a list of felons ineligible to vote in the 2012 presidential election.

Cerro Gordo County Auditor Ken Kline says one person who was never convicted of a felony and two ex-felons whose voting rights had been restored were denied votes in the election after Schultz's office confirmed the three were on a list of ineligible voters.

The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/Lsxkgh ) Schultz's spokesman says his office relied on information provided by Iowa court officials.

Kline worries other people in Iowa have improperly been denied the right to vote.

State Sen. Jeff Danielson, a Waterloo Democrat, has scheduled a hearing for next week on the issue.
