Rochester Crime Beat: Robbery, Suspicious Person Investigated

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The Rochester Police Department is investigating after a convenience store robbery Monday night.

According to police a customer entered the Sunny Market on 2nd St. S.W. just after five o’clock and approached the register to make a purchase. When the worker opened the till the customer reached in and grabbed some cash.

He then told the worker not to move and ran out of the store. 

The suspect is described as a white male around 6 feet tall wearing a blue and grey jacket and dark rimmed glasses. 


Rochester police are warning the public after a series of incident involving a suspicious woman.

According to police there have been several incidents involving a woman approaching homes in southeast Rochester and asking for money. The woman reportedly says she is having car problems and needs money for a tow.

Several neighbors in the 800 block of 15th Ave S.E. have reported dealing with the suspicious woman.

During several incidents the homeowners have given the woman money. In one case a woman drove the suspect to pull out money from an ATM, when they arrived home she discovered that additional money had been taken from her purse.

Police are warning homeowners to be on the lookout and report any suspicious activity.
