(ABC 6 News) -- A standoff in Austin is over, but a suspect remains at large.

Police are now looking for Thomas Kendricks III.

For more than 9 hours Tuesday, a tactical team surrounded a home on the 1100 block of 8th street NW.

Police tell ABC 6 that four people were inside the home.  Five hours into the standoff, around 2:30pm, a juvenile male, juvenile female and a nine-year-old boy left the home.

A couple of hours later, the swat team entered the home looking for Kendricks.  They used K9's multiple times, but weren't able to locate him.

Police recovered a gun inside the home, and at this time do not believe Kendricks has a weapon.

This situation began just after Midnight in Mankato, when two people stole a car from a student at gunpoint.

ABC 6 News spoke with the girl, who's originally from Rochester, about the ordeal.  She says she was scared, but listened to the men and ran away.  She was interviewed by Mankato police throughout the day.
