MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Some Minnesota Vikings season ticket holders waited for hours to take home a memorable piece of the Metrodome.
The team is selling seats from the stadium that's being dismantled in Minneapolis. Kristina Pell and her grandfather arrived early to get in line Monday and were surprised to find they weren't the only ones. Pell says a sea of drivers was trying to merge onto a street near the stadium, creating a huge traffic jam. Pell bought four seats that were first used by her grandparents.
Tom Lecy tells WCCO-TV he sat in the traffic jam, then decided to leave his car and walk to the Metrodome to pick up a single seat as a birthday present for his daughter.
Five hundred vehicles a day are expected to pick up their chairs at the Metrodome.
