Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak Suffers Heart Attack

(KSTP) -- Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak has been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack Saturday, according to city officials.

Rybak arrived at the emergency room by ambulance at 1 p.m., complaining of shortness of breath and chest pains after cross-country skiing 7.7 miles in Theodore Wirth Park, according to Abbott.

The 58-year-old was taken to the Abbott Northwestern Hospital cardiac catheterization lab where doctors performed an angioplasty and inserted two stents, according to the hospital.

He is now resting comfortably with his family, according to the hospital.

Rybak sent tweets after the incident.
