(ABC 6 News) -- A hospital is not a fun place to be around the holidays, but tonight at Mayo's Methodist Hospital there was plenty of cheer to go around.
Roughly a dozen dogs and their owners walked through the halls of the hospital to spread some cheer. The owners were singing Christmas carols and the dogs were there to help people heal.
"We can show that these will reduce stress, so having someone come and visit with the dog reduces stress, we know when stress goes down that healing happens better, less inflammation, a lot of cool stuff the immune system, we also know blood pressure is better and people just feel better," Brent Bauer with Caring Canines said.
