(ABC 6 News) -- As part of an annual holiday tradition -- today millions of wreaths have been laid on the graves of fallen soldiers across America.
There was a ceremony honoring soldiers at the Veterans Memorial Park in Kasson. Five wreaths were hung on a star for fallen soldiers from all branches of the military.
According to Richard Denny, a local veteran, this is in honor of "...how they've protected us. When you have a Christmas party and you have everybody get together there's always one or two that are missing, it's usually the veteran that didn't come home and Christmas time is the time when we remember our veterans and what they've done for us and how they've protected us."
More than a hundred wreaths were brought to grave site across Dodge County.
Organizers say they do something no one else in the country does and that's putting wreaths on the gate of every cemetery in the county because they have soldiers buried throughout the area.
