ST. PAUL, MN (AP) - Governor Mark Dayton is stopping short of expressing full faith in the executive leadership at Minnesota's health insurance exchange.

Dayton was asked Thursday if he has confidence that exchange leaders were adequately addressing problems. He says he will wait a week to 10 days to render judgment.

People who want to buy private insurance coverage effective January 1 have less than two weeks left to get it through the state's exchange.

Dayton says he's "incredulous" that long wait times on MNsure phone lines persist and that problems with the online portal haven't been fully addressed. The Democratic governor says he participates in two to three conference calls per week on the topic.

Dayton signed the law creating the health exchange, which grew out of the federal health insurance overhaul.
