Bellrichard Pleads Not Guilty
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- An Austin man has pleaded not guilty to charges related to sending law enforcement officials a threatening letter.
67-year-old Loren Bellrichard pleaded not guilty this morning to two felony counts in Mower County District Court.
He's accused of sending a threatening letter to an Austin police officer and two employees of the county attorney's office.
Bellrichard previously plead not guilty to charges of escape, violating a protection order, and stalking.
Those charges are related to accusations he stalked a 16-year-old girl. While serving jail time for that, authorities let him attend his mother's funeral. He never returned to custody. Authorities say they received the threatening letter while he was on the lose. He was eventually captured in Alma, WI.
As we've reported, Bellrichard spent time in Prison in the 1990's for sending threatening letters to public officials.
