(ABC 6 News) -- Neighbors near the Root River Regional Park south of Rochester have been speaking out against a proposed expansion, and it seems they're voices have been heard.
Last month, the Pleasant Grove Township board meeting was packed with residents protesting the expansion of the park, fearing it would compromise their properties. Now, the Pleasant Grove Township Board voted unanimously to withdraw their recommendation that the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners look into expanding the park.
Still, the county gets the final say. "The Olmsted County Board will take, I'm sure, the considerations and comments of the Pleasant Grove Town Board and make sure they're well understood as they give instructions for the future," said Tom Ryan with Olmsted County Parks.
Right now there is no deadline for when the county needs to make a decision. We'll keep you posted as soon as we learn more.
