Charges Filed in Austin Man's Homicide
(ABC 6 News) -- Murder charges have been filed in the death of Austin native Beau Zabel. According to our Philadelphia ABC affiliate, those charges against Marcellus Jones came down this afternoon.
Zabel was only 23 years old, and had just moved out east to become a math teacher, when he was gunned down in 2008 in Philadelphia for an iPod.
We spoke to Beau's stepfather last Friday, and he thanked investigators in the case.
"To our surprise they kept pursuing it and got some evidence so that shortly here we hear that they'll arrest him for Beau's murder," Terry Zabel said.
Jones is currently in jail, convicted of killing another man they believe was also involved in Zabel's death.
