(ABC 6 News) - The Rochester Police Department is investigating an arson case after accelerant was used to start a car fire early Sunday morning.
The fire took place at the dead end on 22nd Avenue S.E. around 4 a.m. Firefighters found a 2001 Audi in flames. And it was clear the car had been driven through a field.
Officials say an accelerant was clearly used to start the fire. Initially, authorities could not find the driver of the car, identified only as a 19-year-old female. Police were concerned that she may have been in the car, but she was eventually found safe.
There are no suspects at this time.
