MNsure Now Open
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Despite a slight delay, MNsure is now open for Minnesotans to browse through and enroll in health insurance plans.
The site was originally expected to open Tuesday morning, but that was pushed back until Tuesday afternoon so any potential glitches could be worked out of the system.
"Will it connect with everything happening on the federal level? Cause it's not just the state's system. It may not be there entirely, but enough will be there so that on day 2, 3, 4, 5 pieces will come together," says Steve Parente of the University of Minnesota.
Across the country, the portals at the heart of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul have struggled to handle the volume of consumers on the first day of a six-month open enrollment period.
Roughly 300,000 uninsured Minnesotans are expected to buy insurance via MNsure. You have until December 15th to enroll in coverage so it can take effect January 1st.
