MNsure Expects to Set Launch Time Later Today
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Officials with Minnesota's state-run health insurance exchange say they expect to know later in the morning when consumers can start using the system to shop for health care.
MNsure officials said Monday they want to make sure the system connects properly with federal computer systems and that it's secure. They also said some functions won't be ready right at the start because of technical and logistical problems.
Sen. Michelle Benson has been one of the leading critics of Minnesota's decision to set up its own health insurance exchange. But the Ham Lake Republican said Tuesday she's grateful that MNsure officials decided to wait until afternoon to launch the system. She says the rollout needs to go smoothly because the project has been too expensive for it not to go well.
