(ABC 6 NEWS) -- SocialIce is returning for its fifth year. The event is the one of Minnesota’s largest ice bars.
It starts Thursday and runs through Saturday night. It is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and there is no charge. There will be seven bars sponsored by local bars serving specialty cocktails. There will be live ice demonstrations each night from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each of those nights along with a different band playing each night. Organizers say this is a one of a kind event.
"This is really a unique experience. I personally am not from Minnesota, when I first heard about this concept, I thought it was crazy, but it really is fun. It's a unique gathering place where people can experience a quality of life experience that they wouldn't be able to get anywhere else,” said Melissa Schmid, Events Director of Rochester Downtown Alliance.
