Red Cross Struggles Because of Flu Epidemic

As the flu outbreak spreads, fewer people are strong enough to give blood.

Blood donations drop each winter, but this year the Red Cross is at risk of a significant shortage in available blood because people just aren't healthy enough to donate. 

The last time the Red Cross faced this fear was in 2009 during the H1N1 Pandemic.

The Red Cross says for every one donation, you can help save three peoples' lives.
