Mason City Settles with Former Police Officer

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Mason City has reached a settlement with a former police officer who filed a federal discrimination lawsuit.

Maria Ohl filed the suit in 2010 after being fired for the way she handled information in the investigation of former TV anchor Jodi Huisentruit.

Under the settlement, Ohl will get $95,000, while the city maintains it did nothing wrong. We're told the deal with prevent future litigation expenses and will be paid through insurance. No tax money will be used.
