BCA Investigates Police Involved Death
(ABC 6 News)- The investigation continues after 39-year-old Mark Prom died while being arrested by Rochester police.
Officials say the two officers were responding to a felony warrant for Prom when he became combative and attacked police.
Following police protocol, the Rochester Police Department has called in the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate the death.
Both officers, Investigator David Drees and Investigator Lesley Kenyon, have been put on administrative leave. A standard procedure for cases like this.
The BCA has taken over the investigation and is currently working many angles. After interviewing both officers, witnesses, and neighbors, the agency has sent Prom's body to the Hennepin Medical Examiner's office.
Representatives with the BCA say they're now waiting on toxicology tests. It could be several weeks before they see results.
