Update: Two Rochester Police Officers on Leave After Man Dies While Being Arrested

(ABC 6 News) -- A man is dead after a struggle with police officers in Rochester Friday evening. And now, those two officers are on administrative leave.

It happened in the area of East Center Street, and 13th Avenue NE. Two Rochester police department investigators, Lesley Kenyon and David Drees, were attempted to arrest 39-year-old Mark Prom, of Rochester. Prom fled from the officers on foot. When Investigator Kenyon caught up with him, Prom began assaulting her.

When Investigator Drees arrived, both officers subdued Prom and were trying to handcuff him when he became unresponsive.

The investigators, along with first reponders, attempted to resuscitate Prom without success.

He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Officers are on administrative leave.

The cause of death has not yet been released.
