Physicians Against Marriage Amendment

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A group of local physicians has formed to oppose the upcoming marriage amendment in Minnesota.

The group, called Doctors United, met in Rochester Wednesday to discuss the proposal. The doctors say the amendment excludes and prevents members of the community from enjoying the same rights as everyone else. And as doctors, they say the proposed amendment would harm children."As physicians,we are really very familiar with the evidence on this which is children do best when they grow up in stable environments, regardless of the category of their parents, " says Dr. James Martenson.

It's important to note the doctors are representing themselves, and not any particular medical organization.
