Frederiksen Calm During Initial Appearance

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Tuesday morning, a calm Casey Frederiksen sat in Floyd County court, and was responsive to the judge.

The 33-year-old is charged in the 2005 death of Evelyn Miller, the 5-year-old daughter of Frederiksen's then girlfriend.

Charges last month accuse Frederiksen of sexually abusing the young girl, before killing her, and dumping her body.

The presiding judge also rejected a plea by Frederiksen to restrict expanded media coverage of the trial, meaning cameras will be allowed inside the courtroom throughout the case.
