North Iowa Man Dies After Falling Into Cedar River

ST. ANSGAR, Iowa (AP) - A 31-year-old Osage man has died after falling into a northern Iowa river.

Law enforcement says the man was among several people who had gathered Sunday night at an old structure called the Old Mill. It sits along the Cedar River northwest of St. Ansgar.

The Mitchell County Sheriff's Office says a 911 caller reported a little after 10 p.m. that the man had gone into the river and was missing.

He was found, but CPR efforts by medical personnel failed to revive him.

The sheriff's office identified the man as Christopher Ceretti.
