Homicide Investigation in Northeast Iowa

(ABC 6 News) -- The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department is investigating a homicide.

It happened Thursday afternoon, just before 3:00. Law enforcement officials went to the home of 70-year-old Carl Gallmeyer to do a welfare check.

They found Gallmeyer dead in his home.

The medical examiner in Ankeny, IA has ruled the death a homicide. The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating, along with the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations.
