Austin Man Sues After Being Tazed
(ABC 6 News) -- An Austin man is suing two Austin police officers, Gold Cross, and the City of Austin claiming he was wrongfully tazed.
This happened about a year ago. The criminal complaint also says Scott Sheeley was having a seizure and when help arrived he didn't get medical care.
Allegations are that medical personal, and police officers restrained him and repeatedly tazed him, sending him into cardiac arrest and causing permanent brain damage.
We contacted the city of Austin's Defense Attorney Daniel Kurtz who tells us, "The city and the officers are confident they will prevail in this case.”
He wouldn't comment further, calling the case premature. A trial date has yet to be set.
