Mock Plane Crash Held for Training
(ABC 6 News)- If you happen to swing by the Rochester International Airport on Thursday and see multiple emergency vehicles, don't worry. It's only a drill.
As part of a Federal Aviation Administration regulation, airports are required to conduct emergency response drills once every three years.
The last drill in Rochester was in September of 2009.
This upcoming drill will feature a mock plane crash that multiple agencies will respond to.
The agencies include Minnesota State Patrol, Olmsted County Sheriff's office, Rochester Fire Department, and many others.
The crash will be simulated at 1:00 PM at the airport.
The even is not open to the public.
