Local School District Settles Bullying Lawsuit

One local school district is paying a family thousands in a bullying settlement this week.

The Rochester Public School District will pay nearly $87,500 to the family whose son was repeatedly bullied back in 2008.

In one incident at Willow Creek Middle School, the victim suffered a concussion and damage to a cochlear implant -- which later had to be surgically replaced.

The perpetrator was convicted of 5th degree assault in Olmsted County juvenile court. His family was ordered to pay $32,000 to the victim.

As for the victim, he is now enrolled in another school district.
