Police Say Teen Charged for Sex Assault Admits to Other Attacks
(ABC 6 NEWS)- Investigators have finished their report regarding a 17-year-old suspected of sexual assault, and have charged him for one of the attacks. Authorities say he's also admitted to others.
The teen is charged in Olmsted County Juvenile Court with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, and one count of burglary.
The assault happened September 12th in the Kutzky Park neighborhood in Rochester. Investigators have also been able to link the teen to two other sexual assaults in Kutzky Park. The first happened May 4th when a woman was attacked as she prepared to go jogging. The other happened July 1st when a woman was assaulted in her own bed.
Police were able to connect the 17-year-old to those two crimes through use of a photo line up with victims, some evidence recovered from the scene, and a self-admission from the teen during an interview. Charges are still being filed for those attacks.
A fourth attack is still being investigated, but authorities aren't sure if this teen is responsible. Prosecutors do plan to plan to charge him as an adult, but that process could take up to a month. Initial charges will be in juvenile court.
We'll have full reports on the new developments tonight on ABC 6 News at 5:00 and 6:00.
