Email to a FriendCrash Kills 2 Young Girls
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Two young girls from Northwood, Iowa are dead after a morning crash near Hanlontown. The Iowa State Patrol says the van they were riding in didn't stop at an intersection and was hit by a semi-truck.
The crash happened around 9:30 at the intersection of Highway 9 and Wheelerwood Road. Troopers say Cassidy Stehn and Hana Riedinger were killed. Destiny Bruce was airlifted to Saint Marys in Critical Condition. Jaela Parks, Maeghan Petznick, and Hailey Schaefer were also injured.
The van was carrying six, ten to twelve year olds from Northwood. Authorities say the two girls killed were thrown from the vehicle. They were wearing seatbelts. A 22-year-old woman was driving.
