Laura Lee joined ABC 6 News in November 2010. She started as an evening reporter and now co-anchors the 10 pm newscast. Along with her anchor duties, she's recently investigated the cancer cluster plaguing children in the town of Kasson, taken viewers beyond the headlines in a multi-part series on Level III Sex Offenders and profiled the pros and cons of international adoption. She also takes the lead on ABC 6's Assignment Education reporting with her weekly Excellent Educator segments.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Laura takes pride in the unique culture Minnesota has to offer. She loves meeting people of this region and telling their stories.
Laura is a five time Emmy nominated reporter. Her award winning special reports and investigations have been recognized by the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists. Aside from reporting, Laura also won the Judge's Choice Award at the 2012 Dancing for the Arts -- Rochester's version of Dancing with the Stars.
Before joining ABC 6 News, Laura worked for Hubbard Broadcasting's sister station KSTP in the Twin Cities as part of the production team. She graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of St. Thomas and was recently featured as a Communications/Journalism Alumna.
Outside of work, Laura is just "mom" to her four amazing kids. She and her husband welcomed their fourth child in March and they say he is a bundle of joy. When they can find time, the couple loves to entertain and to cook, and when Laura gets a chance, she enjoys running and playing tennis.
