Here is a look at some news you might have missed on Thursday:
It was a busy day on the University of Minnesota campus. The Board of Regents held an emergency meeting Thursday morning regarding a sexual harassment investigation of a top fundraiser in the university's athletics office who violated the school's policy. And Board Of Regents Chair Dean Johnson announced the board is launching an investigation into the source of KSTP's report on the sexual harassment investigation. The board is asking each of its 12 members, as well as university employees who had access to the information, to sign affidavits that they did not share it.
The city did not give specifics when it came to the cause. But it did confirm Chaska's parks and recreation director and assistant director are on administrative leave. Director Tom Redman and Assistant Director Kathy Skinner were escorted out of their offices Tuesday by Chaska police, which the city said is standard procedure for these types of situations.
A 52-year-old man was taken into custody Wednesday after a search warrant executed in Brainerd yielded a plethora of drugs and cash. The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported Thursday that officers seized prescription pills, psilocybin mushrooms and 40 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $3,200 from an address in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast. The report said $2,800 in cash was also seized.
