St. Paul Public Hearing on Sales Tax for Transportation Funding


The 9 a.m. hearing at St. Paul City Hall will discuss a proposed sales tax imposition of up to one half-cent for transportation funding in Ramsey County in lieu of the one quarter-cent sales tax currently imposed for the Counties Transit Improvement Board.

People with Disabilities and their Caregivers will Rally at the State Capitol

Hundreds of advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will rally at the Minnesota State Capitol for the Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota Advocacy Day to encourage legislators to increase reimbursement rates for people who care for those with disabilities. The large crowd will include staff from ARRM member organizations like Bethesda Lutheran Communities and the people they support.

Former White House Chief of Staff McDonough '92 to Hold Conversation at Saint John's University

"From SJU to the White House: A Conversation with Denis McDonough" is at 2:30 p.m. at Pellegrene Auditorium, Saint John's University. McDonough, a 1992 SJU graduate, served as President Barack Obama's White House Chief of Staff from 2013-17.

Crystal to Host Parks System Master Plan Open House

The City of Crystal is hosting a Parks System Master Plan open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Crystal Community Center, 4800 Douglas Dr. N. The project will create the city's first Park and Recreation System Plan. All of Crystal's 27 parks will be part of the project, including a master plan that specifically focuses on redeveloping Becker Park, located in the city's main commercial area. Conceptual park plans will also be created for the city's other large community parks: North Lions Park, Welcome Park, Lions Valley Place Park and Bassett Creek Park.
