(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Kevin Armbrust is a northerner, but he likes what he sees in the southern part of the state.
The new Albert Lea football coach is a Sauk Rapids native, and spent the past five years at Onamia, where he led the Panthers to a 30-17 record.
He's trying to turn around a Tiger program that didn't win a single game last year.
"It's been great," Armbrust said. "I really feel at home with these guys."
Armbrust and his Tigers open the season Thursday at Mankato West.
