(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The 2013 Byron Bears suffered injury, after injury, after injury.
It goes without saying, they hope the 2014 season isn't a repeat.
The Bears were down to their third-string quarterback at one point last year, but if there's a silver lining, they say it helped prepare them for this season.
"A lot of our starting guys played last year," Byron tight end/linebacker Noah Schutte said. "We definitely have a connection between everybody, so that's really good."
"A lot of guys will step up from last year, because they got a ton of playing time with all the people hurt," Byron wide receiver Jonny Mracek said.
Byron open the 2014 season Thursday against Dover-Eyota.
