(ABC 6 News) -- By now you've probably seen the videos of the ice bucket challenge. Friday it was Mayo Clinic doctors getting wet.
Doctors Eric Sorenson and Nathan Staff work at the ALS center at Mayo.
The challenge is a way to raise money and awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's Disease, which is a deadly degenerative nerve disorder.
"The ALS association has raised four times of fundraising in the last month as it had the entire year before so the amount of awareness and fundraising that's taken place for the non-profit and the organization has been incredible," Dr. Eric Sorenson said.
Since July 29th, the ice bucket challenge has raised nearly $10 million for the ALS Association. If you'd like to donate to the cause or learn more about it click here.
