(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Andrew Weiers enters his third year as the Hayfield football coach, and the expectations have never been higher.

The Vikings finished the 2013 regular season 4-4, but lost to Lewiston-Altura in their playoff opener.

It was a game many players felt they should have won, but as they enter 2014, emotions are running high.

"I'm thinking two playoff wins," guard/middle linebacker Cody Carpentier said. "We're going to upset some people."

Hayfield has 12 seniors back for their final year, and they plan to go out on top.

"If we keep working hard, good things will happen," offensive lineman/middle linebacker Noah Timmons said.

Because Hayfield has its bye zero week, the Vikings don't open the season until Aug. 29 against Kingsland.
