(ABC 6 News) – Police have now released the name of the man they’re looking for in the shooting that occurred in northwest Rochester on July 30th.

On August fourth, an arrest warrant was issued for 17-year-old Aries Candler for First Degree Aggravated Robbery and Second Degree Assault. It’s been roughly a week since the shooting and he has yet to be located, so police are now turning to the public.

Police believe Candler was the suspect who fired the gun, are calling him “armed and dangerous." They say he should not be confronted.  If anyone has any information on his whereabouts your urged to contact the Rochester Police Department at 507-328-6800.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a second suspect in this case. 21-year-old Charles Webster was arrested on Wednesday, shortly before 5pm. Police say they believe Webster was driving the car that left the scene of the shooting. They say he may be charged with 1st degree aggravated robbery and 2nd degree assault.

As we've reported, Rochester police arrested 19-year-old Elijah Golden last Thursday afternoon at a home in the 900 block of 4th Avenue SE. He was facing charges of second degree attempted murder and aggravated robbery.

Earlier in the day Thursday, police arrested someone who may have been involved but he was let go. Police believe he was not one of the three suspects they were originally looking for. Police also spoke over the phone with another suspect, who they believe was there during the shooting. They say they aren’t sure where the call was coming from and are still attempting to talk to the man face-to-face.

Just before 7:30 Wednesday night, Rochester Police got a call from Saint Marys Hospital that a 20-year-old male had come in with a gunshot wound to the head. When police arrived, the victim was going into surgery and was unable to talk to them,  but they were able to speak with the victim Thursday. He asked not to be identified.

The group planned to meet in the Perkins north parking lot near Civic Center Drive. Police say it was a drug transaction, likely involving marijuana. We’re told the victim met up with two people there, then an altercation took place. The victim was shot at close range, but the bullet entered through one side of his chin and out the other, injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

The two suspects got into a nearby car driven by a third person. Since that person had been waiting nearby, police believe this altercation may have been planned. Police searched for the three individuals until roughly 1:30 in the morning Wednesday, but were unable to locate them the night of the shooting.

It’s believed this was an isolated incident and the is no additional danger to the public.
