(ABC 6 News) - The Bloomington Bomb Squad was in Rochester Friday, after a box of hand grenades was found in an apartment.

The Rochester Police Department says a contractor was hired to paint the unit after someone recently moved out. When the contractor got there, police say he noticed a box in the apartment that was filled with 15-20 hand grenades.

He called police, who took pictures of the grenades, to send to the Bloomington Bomb Squad. Members of the bomb squad then came to Rochester to collect the grenades.

Officials say while some of the grenades were real, others were classified as "training grenades".

Police are still investigating who the grenades belonged to.
