(ABC 6 News) -- The Legacy Scholarship Run happens during the first two weekends of August, covering Southern and Northern Minnesota.
The money raised goes towards scholarships for kids who have had a parent pass away while serving in the military since September 11th, 2001.
This weekend, the American Legion riders stopped in Rochester for breakfast before heading to Owatonna and Faribault.
They've raised $34,000 so far, this weekend.
Sully Sullivan is one of the riders and he explains why he likes to do this, "We just want to make sure that the children of our fallen veterans get an opportunity to go to college and the American Legion is going to make that happen."
This is the fifth year for the Minnesota Legacy Run. Their goal is to eventually raise $20 million nationwide to continue to support the cause for years to come.
