(ABC 6 News) –  Rochester Police say one person is in custody in connection to Wednesday night's shooting.

Rochester police arrested 19-year-old Elijah Golden Thursday afternoon at a home in the 900 block of 4th Avenue SE. Though not believed to be the shooter, he faces charges of second degree attempted murder and aggravated robbery since he played a role in the crime.

Earlier in the day Thursday, police arrested someone who may have been involved but he’s since been let go. Police believe he was not one of the three suspects they were originally looking for. Police also spoke over the phone with another suspect, who they believe was there during the shooting. They say they aren’t sure where the call was coming from and are still attempting to talk to the man face-to-face. That suspect is not believed to be the gunman either. The gunman has yet to be located.

Just before 7:30 Wednesday night, Rochester Police got a call from Saint Marys Hospital that a 20 year-old male had come in with a gunshot wound to the head. When police arrived, the victim was going into surgery and was unable to talk to them,  but they were able to speak with the victim Thursday. He asked not to be identified.

The group planned to meet in the Perkins north parking lot near Civic Center Drive. Police say it was a drug transaction, likely involving marijuana. We’re told the victim met up with two people there, then an altercation took place. The victim was shot at close range, but the bullet entered through one side of his chin and out the other, injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

The two suspects got into a nearby car driven by a third person. Since that person had been waiting nearby, police believe this altercation may have been planned. Police searched for the three individuals until roughly 1:30 in the morning Wednesday, but were unable to locate them the night of the shooting.

It’s believed this was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger at the moment. The getaway car is described as a silver passenger car believed to be a Chevy Impala or Malibu. If you have any information you’re urged to call police.
