(ABC 6 News) -- A special summer camp for children with autism wrapped up Friday in Austin.
The Circle of Friends Day Camp ended its fifth year with a special celebration Friday afternoon that included a bounce house, petting zoo, and other games and activities.
The camp is designed for kids from kindergarten to fifth grade who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
Organizers said it's just a fun way for kids with autism to interact with their peers.
“I’ve definitely seen friendships form this week, some connections,” said Jenni Harves, the camp’s co-director. “So it helps them make friends, they can be who they are and it's a safe environment. They have a good time."
The camp is funded through a partnership between the Hormel Foundation and the United Way of Mower County.
