Stormy, Steamy Weather Moves In

So far the July 4th weekend has been beautiful - not too hot, not too cold, little humidity, dry and just enough wind to make it feel comfortable! Well, that is about to change in a drastic way come Sunday. Warm, moist air is surging north bringing some of the warmest temperatures we have seen so far this year.

Dew points in the lower 70s will make the humidity feel oppressive a drastic change from dew points in the 40s earlier this week!

Warm temperatures and high dew points will combine to push heat indices or the feel like temperature into the middle 90s.

With all of this warm, moist air on the way our dry stretch comes to and end and stormy weather is in sight. The chance for thunderstorms is not great on Sunday, but it is present. This chance is mostly centered in the late afternoon from 3-7 PM. No huge rain makers are expected but brief heavy downpours can be expected, the threat for strong to severe storm is also possible with portions of our area outlined in a slight risk for severe weather by the NWS. Damaging wind and large hail will be the main threats with any strong storms that do develop.
