Six days worth of one storm system chalked full of moisture, you are bound to have problems. That storm which started Saturday with soaking rainfall has continue through today before finally petering out. Along it's way, some 3-7" of rainfall and widespread wind damage.
Listed below rainfall totals for respective airports across the area. In a 'normal' stretch, rainfall in these six days combined would amount to somewhere just shy of 1"... around 0.95". That means the area has seen rainfall some four to seven times more than normal!
All that rain, coming in bunches over the six day stretch did cause flash flooding, and several low areas/roadways to close down. Rivers... are still on the rise with a few approaching moderate or even major flood stages! Thankfully locally, any threat to property from river flooding has been low. Basements inundated with water leaking through foundations... that's a different story.
