(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A Rochester man is behind bars tonight accused of leading police on a chase through three southeast Minnesota counties in four different stolen vehicles.

Authorities say it started Monday morning with a hit and run with a stolen vehicle in Oronoco. It ended ended Monday night after authorities say another stolen vehicle 30-year-old Manuel Ramirez was driving ran out of gas. He was captured near Goodhue.

Ramirez is being held in the Wabasha County Jail because that's where investigators say his crime spree originated.   Olmsted, Goodhue, and Wabasha Counties will now have to work together to determine what charges he'll face.

ABC 6 News did some checking and found Ramirez has a very lengthy criminal background with convictions involving everything from drugs, to fleeing a peace officer, and burglary among others.
