(ABC 6 News) -- The Metrodome is long gone, but the items from inside are still in Minnesota.

In fact, they're in Spring Valley and Thursday ABC 6 got a sneak peak at some stadium items going up for auction.

Behind the warehouse doors in Spring Valley is a piece of Vikings history.  The purple and gold left behind once the Metrodome came down.

"The day after Christmas we showed up with 22 workers, and 32 semis and we worked around the clock for a couple of weeks," says Judd Grafe.

Judd is owner of Grafe Auction, and his company received the bid to remove all the food service equipment and assets in the concourse areas of the stadium as well as the Metrodome turf.

"I have a passion for finding new owners for repurposing old assets," he said. "That's what I love to do, my thrill is finding someone that really wants it."
When asked if Grafe was a Vikings fan, he says he was born and bred and will always be a fan.

"As we lose those buildings, people are still looking for that piece to hold on to," he said.

Inside his warehouse are hot dog machines, pop machines, and cotton candy machines.  The list goes on, from beer stands to bar stools and even pizza cutters -- everything is for sale.

One of the premiere items at Grafe Auction is the Metrodome turf which is heading to Mayo High School.

There are also more than 2,000 chairs which once had a place along the sidelines and a limited number of stadium seats.

"The stadium seats are one of the more popular items, it creates the memories, it's an iconic piece for the Metrodome, so it allows people no matter what their interest levels are, to create and have a memory for home," said Grafe.

Even buyers from as far away as England, Costa Rica and Canada, all wanting a piece.
"I don't doubt by the end of this, I will have a blue chair in my garage too," chuckles Grafe.
A labor of love from one Vikings fan to another.

The auction is online only, it runs through May 29th.
