Minot stuns Bruins in playoff opener

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The Minot Minotauros scored four goals in the first period, and held on for an 8-6 win over the Austin Bruins in game one of a best-of-five playoff series.

The two teams combined for seven first period goals, but Minot grabbed a 1-0 series lead, thanks to Jacob Howie's game-winner just 4:03 into the third period.

The Minotauros converted on three of their five power plays, while the Bruins were 0-for-4.

Game two is Saturday night at Riverside.
