(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Some tense moments in Rochester Friday morning as a car nearly crashed off the seventh story of a downtown parking ramp.
It happened around 8:30 at the Damon Ramp. Authorities say a woman was parking when she either drove too far and too fast while getting into the spot or hit the gas instead of the brake.
The car went into some high-tension cables and become wedged beneath a steel beam.
"The car was pretty wedged. There's a beam above it, approximately a 3 foot gap between the top beam and the concrete. The car was wedged in between. It would have taken a much greater force than just accidentally running into it to go through," says Battalion Chief Bill MacMongle with the Rochester Fire Department.
The car was wedged so tightly it took a substantial effort to get it freed. Eventually crews did.
The man and woman inside the car weren't hurt, nor was anyone on the ground.
