March is Frozen Food Month – when is the last time you scouted out what is in your freezer? Is your freezer set up to help you or hinder you in balanced meal planning? Hy-Vee Registered Dietitian, Jen Haugen, will identify which foods must be in your freezer to create nourishing meals for the entire family.
Power of Frozen
Frozen fruits and vegetables are just as nutritious as fresh. Picked at their peak ripeness, fruits and vegetables are frozen quickly after picking. Because of this, nutrients and flavor are locked in.
Cool Fruits and Veggies
Think beyond corn, green beans and peas to now butternut squash, artichokes, Brussels sprouts and more. Jen will share new products you can find now in your freezer aisles.
An Easy Home Meal
Jen will share a balanced meal made quickly using frozen fruits and vegetables.
