(ABC 6 News) -- A home in Pine Island is one of four buildings in Minnesota close to being named to the national register of historic places.

The Jacob A. and Mary Finn Bringgold House was completed in 1903.  It is a Queen Anne-style home experts say is a distinctive example of Victorian architecture.

"We have a post card that shows homes on White Street, this was called White Street years ago, and there's a lot of old homes in Pine Island on that post card and ours is one of them, and that was 1902," said Dave Johnson who has lived in the house for 40 years.

The other buildings being considered are in the Twin cities and another in Denmark Township.

The Minnesota nominations should be finalized in May, and then go to the national level for approval.
